MC Cham Jr., a political analyst, and commentator, has accused Citizens’ Alliance party leader Dr. Ismaila Ceesay of being dishonest to Gambians after his recent comments about the draft constitution that failed at National Assembly.
Dr. Ismaila Ceesay, in a recent interview with the Standard Newspaper, has alleged that the Draft Constitution is targeted at President Adama Barrow.
“The CA leader is simply not honest to the Gambian people. Dr. Ceesay forgot that in the era of social media (VAR) where records are accessible, People must be honest to change society with sincerity and integrity, especially us politicians,” MC Cham Jr said.
“Inconsistent politicians can never be predicted in their behavior and you can never trust them. Integrity and sincerity are important in personality and particularly political leadership when you have to promise and deliver,” he continued
MC Cham Jr. Stated that Dr. Ismaila Ceesay, leader of the Citizen Alliance, urged Gambians to vote for the D116 million draft constitution of the then Constitution Review Commission in September 2020. Cham Jr. said that Dr. Ceesay made this statement in a Facebook post on September 18, 2020, in which he said that “voting against the draft constitution is akin to sacrificing the aspirations of Gambians, particularly the younger and future generations.”
MC went on to posit that Dr. Ceesay was a vociferous critic of the President, who at one point alleged that the president lacks the intellectual capacity to lead.
“Dr Ceesay a Social Scientist and aspiring president in the Gambia, the one-time well-known critic of President Barrow and his administration did not mean what he was saying and was fooling Gambians as well as himself. If Dr. Ceesay can say that “failing the draft constitution is bringing back dictatorship”. He joined the same government he was against. He said that “President Barrow did not have the intellectual capacity to run the affairs of the nation”. Ismaila with his Doctorate and intellectual capacity allowed himself or unaware been swindled by the Barrow administration. Today Dr. Ceesay is knocked out of his intellect for not being sincere with the Gambians,” MC Cham Jr said.
